In October, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros launched their visionary Big Top music festival, a four-day affair modeled after the classic traveling circus. As part of the Dream365 Project, Visit California interviewed frontman and Golden Globe winner, Alex Ebert, about his dream to do something different and the courage it took to make it happen. See the interview and go inside the Big Top for a live performance of "Man on Fire."

Feasibility Research

All the details needed to determine feasibility of a game project are developed during the pre-production stage and a final call on feasibility will be made during a ‘green light’ meeting at the end of pre-production. Of course to even commence with pre-production there must be some confidence in the feasibility of the project based on strategic business decisions.
A common way to carry out a feasibility study is to use the ‘TELOS’ approach.  TELOS is an acronym which covers five areas:
  • Technical
  • Economic
  • Legal
  • Operational
  • Scheduling

SWOT Analysis

A SWOT analysis consists of answering a series of questions to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.  This process can be used as both a planning tool and a risk identification and management tool. A successful analysis will find solutions to turn the negative findings; weaknesses and threats into positives; strengths and opportunities.  The following diagram shows the SWOT process:
