Feasibility

All the details needed to determine feasibility of a game project are developed during the pre-production stage and a final call on feasibility will be made during a ‘green light’ meeting at the end of pre-production. Of course to even commence with pre-production there must be some confidence in the feasibility of the project based on strategic business decisions.
A common way to carry out a feasibility study is to use the ‘TELOS’ approach.  TELOS is an acronym which covers five areas:
  • Technical
  • Economic
  • Legal
  • Operational
  • Scheduling


SWOT Analysis

A SWOT analysis consists of answering a series of questions to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.  This process can be used as both a planning tool and a risk identification and management tool. A successful analysis will find solutions to turn the negative findings; weaknesses and threats into positives; strengths and opportunities.  The following diagram shows the SWOT process:
